DESCRIPTION:The Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce will host an information session with the Minnesota Department of Transportation on the upcoming Highway 14/Broadway Avenue Intersection project with construction slated to begin in the summer of 2027. \n\n\n\nIn 2027\, the Hwy 14 and Broadway Ave. intersection in Rochester will receive safety improvements. Every day\, almost 50\,000 vehicles use the intersection. MnDOT and the City of Rochester are looking into changes to reduce crashes and improve crossings for pedestrians and bicyclists.\n\n\n\nThe team is looking into these changes:\n\n\n	Alter some or even all turning lanes\n	Reduce speeding\, especially on Broadway Ave.\n	Resurface Broadway Ave. to 9th St.\n	Adjust crosswalks and install new sidewalks/trails\n	Upgrade ADA facilities\n	Replace traffic signals\n	Improve lighting\n\n\nThe project will span west and east on Hwy 14 from 4th Ave. SW to 3rd Ave. SE and north and south from 9th St. SE to the access points north of 14 St. SW.
