Thank you for your support in making this event a success!\n\n\n\nJoin us for the 22nd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr. We Have a Dream Breakfast hosted in partnership with the Diversity Council and the NAACP. This family-friendly event will feature a keynote presentation by Louis Alemayehu and entertainment by The Donohue Jazz Quartet featuring Dianna Parks.\n\n\n\nAbout Louis Alemayehu \n\nBorn in Chicago of African and Native heritage\, Louis Alemayehu developed his poetic skills and musical sensibilities as a part of the Black Arts Movement in the 1970s. As an award-winning poet\, musician\, educator and community elder\, Louis crosses and challenges the boundaries between generations\, cultures\, disciplines\, and art forms.\n\n\nThrough his ability to mentor\, and connect with young people\, Louis is a leader in cultivating the next generation of community-engaged artists in the Twin Cities. He teaches classes in poetry and language arts at the Multicultural Indigenous Academy in St. Paul\, and facilitates community workshops on racism\, culture and community-building.\n\n\n\nFollowing the Breakfast\, please plan to participate in the rest of the day's activities:\n\n \n\n10:00     Gather for Music   North Lobby\n\n10:30     Rally and March through Downtown\n\n11:15     March ends back at Mayo Civic Center\n\n11:30     Commemorative Program   Civic Theatre Lobby\n\n1:00       MLK Birthday Party   Civic Theatre Lobby\n\n\n\nRochester City Lines will provide FREE transportation to and from this event from two pick-up locations:  NW from the Best Buy/Hobby Lobby parking lot\; and SW from the Mayo High School parking lot. Buses will depart at 7:30 am.  Please indicate your pick-up location upon registration if desired.\n\n \n\nA limited number of FREE tickets to this event are available for individuals and organizations.
