Thank you for your patience as we work through this technological glitch.\n\n\n\nLGR Mission: \n\nTo develop emerging leaders through participation in personal\, professional and community awareness activities designed to encourage individual responsibility for taking an active leadership role in the future vitality of the greater Rochester area. \n\n\n\n\n\nLGR Orientation and History - August\n\nA two part session that explores both the program and the history of greater Rochester area.\n\n\n \n Recognize the connection between personal leadership\, business leadership and community engagement\n \n \n Foster connections with class members and norm expectations for the course\n \n \n Appreciation of the history and evolution of the Rochester region\n \n\n\n \n\nLeadership Retreat (2 day) - September\n\nA two day\, overnight retreat focused on identifying personal leadership styles\, establishing team connections\, and discussing community needs.\n\n\n \n Understand how to maximize personal leadership traits\n \n \n Establish effective team dynamics as a LGR class\n \n \n Engage in facilitated discussion regarding broad community needs and potential engagement as a LGR class and as community members\n\n \n \n\n\nGlobal Economy and Local Talent (2 day) - October\n\nIn this session\, we study economic strategies and trends on the first day and engage in practical implementation for business growth in the second. Learn what makes Rochester's economy work and how the plans for future growth position our region in the region\, state and global economy.\n\n\n \n What are greater Rochester's current economic drivers \n \n \n What are the strategic economic initiatives within the region / where is the economy headed\n \n \n What is Rochester's contribution to the state\, national\, and international marketplace and how does the city compete for economic development against other regions\n \n\n \n\nWork on CIP Proposals and Board Reviews - November\n\nNo session this month\, but there is homework! \n\n\n \n Create CIP proposal\n \n \n Visit and report on two boards: one you would potentially like to serve on and one elected official board\n \n \n Continue to reflect on personal leadership style while implementing ideas/changes in the work environment\n\n \n \n\n\nDiversity\, Arts\, and Culture - December\n\nDevelop a deeper understanding of the diverse populations of our community and how these groups influence the arts and culture of Greater Rochester.
