The Water Reclamation Plant (WRP) located at 301 37th Street NW, is a division of the Public Works Department. The Plant treats waste water for the City of Rochester's 112,000+ residents, local industry and frequent visitors. It is nationally recognized for its energy management initiatives.
Nature of Work
This is a temporary position that assists staff with exterior building maintenance, sampling, and cleaning. Duties also include assisting with general maintenance of equipment. Work will be a mix of indoor and outdoor maintenance tasks.
$15.00-$17.50 per hour depending on education and experience.
Work Schedule:
Normal work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 p.m.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist staff with exterior building repairs
- Assist staff with interior building cleaning and repairs
- Perform river and industry samplings
- Perform other related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must be at least 16 years of age.
Licenses and/or Certifications
Valid driver's license
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience performing similar work
- Desire to enter the water or wastewater operations field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of: general maintenance
Skill in: the use and care of tools, equipment, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of equipment; interpersonal communication;
Ability to: establish and maintain positive working relationships; work outdoors while it is raining slightly; and effectively carry out written and oral instructions.
