The City of Rochester, Minnesota's Civic Music Department provides the community with opportunities for high quality, diverse, and accessible musical and educational programs. The department offers a broad range of concerts, performance opportunities for area musicians, and artistic support services that help make Rochester a more livable community and contribute to the quality of life of its citizens.
Nature of Work
This is a part-time, temporary, seasonal position that involves physical stage management and administrative support duties. This position reports directly to the Production and Community Outreach Coordinator.
Shifts will include days, nights and weekends as necessary. Duration of shifts will vary, and could be up to 12 hours long.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Production and Community Outreach Coordinator with various day-of-show tasks, including: communicating with musicians, crew, stagehands, and Civic Music staff; set up and take down of rope and stanchion aisles for the Down by the Riverside series.
- Serves as show runner to source and collect items and transport artists, members of artist’s company, and crew as required.
- Provides the load-in, proper placement, and set-up of tents, tables, and chairs used for promotion and merchandise sales as well as disassembly and storing after show.
- Assist Civic Music staff with set up, inventory and selling of merchandise.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Be at least 18 year of age
Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
Licenses and/or Certifications
Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of concert production
- Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of: concert production

Ability to: establish and maintain positive working relationships; communicate effectively and persuasively both orally and in writing; lift and move musical equipment
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CRITERIA
