Office Assistant - Water Reclamation Plant (Seasonal Opportunity)

The Water Reclamation Plant (WRP) located at 301 37th Street NW, is a division of the Public Works Department. The Plant treats waste water for the City of Rochester's 112,000+ residents, local industry and frequent visitors. It is nationally recognized for its energy management initiatives.
Nature of Work
This is a temporary position with up to 40 hours per week available the summer of 2020. Work will include but is not limited to assisting plant staff with relocation of documents and offices during construction, working with plant staff to improve accessibility of documents, data entry and relocation of inventory of parts.
$14.00 to $17.00 per hour, depending on education and experience.
Normally 7:30am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
*Pursuant to MN Statute, seasonal assignments are limited to 67 working days per calendar year or 100 working days per calendar year if the employees are under the age of 22, are full-time students enrolled in a nonprofit or public educational institution prior to being hired by the employer, and have indicated, either in an application for employment or by being enrolled at an educational institution for the next academic year or term, an intention to continue as students during or after their temporary employment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist staff with relocation of office, documents, and other work hardware.
- Data entry.
- Scanning and electronic organization of operation and maintenance manuals.
- Relocation and organization of inventory of parts.
Qualified candidates must be at least 16 years of age.
Licenses and/or Certifications
Valid driver's license
- High School diploma or equivalent GED
- Experience performing similar work
- Experience with inventory organization and filing
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of: office procedures and Microsoft Office programs.
Skill in: the use of personal computers and office equipment.
Ability to: understand and carry out oral and written assignments
