Full Job Description


To promote and grow active partnerships with existing and new members, demonstrating the value the Rochester Chamber brings to their organization. To develop and implement annual events, sponsorship campaign and programming that encourages member engagement and support for the organization. The Events & Program Director shall be a primary contact for new and existing membership to the organization.

In partnership with the Chamber team, ensure Rochester Chamber membership is informed of Chamber events and engagement opportunities. The Events & Program Director is responsible for developing promotional communications and assisting in establishing the branding of the Rochester Chamber to ensure the organization is the premier business organization in the region.


Events & Programming

· Actively support, plan and participate in Rochester Chamber events, including the Annual Celebration, Business After Hours, Golf Outing, among others

· Development of a strategic sales plan to acquire and retain sponsorships for Rochester Chamber events and programs

· Assist in maintaining sponsorship database

· Connect with existing members to encourage member engagement and education of events and programs
· Assist in the creation and implementation of membership retention initiatives.

· Budget development for programs and events


· Advance and encourage consistency in Rochester Chamber branding

· Assist in the creation of Rochester Chamber communications and promotional materials

· Manage Chamber ribbon cutting program and activities


The ideal professional for this role will possess:

· Associate degree or Bachelor degree in marketing, communications, public relations, event planning or related field

· Knowledge of business-to-business sales practices
· Creativity and strategic thinking

· Possess effective written and verbal communications with an understanding of various audiences

· Knowledge of aspects and practices necessary to ensure marketing and communications functions are performed on time, effectively and within budget

· Ability to develop and maintain relationships with business members

· Knowledge of event planning and promotion

· Strong organizational practices to ensure project timelines and standards are met

This person should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, sales experience and knowledge of event planning. Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe CS experience are welcome, and will be considered when choosing the best applicant for this position.


The Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce is business member organization dedicated to providing resources, information, advocacy and opportunities to connect to the Rochester area business community.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
