Due to overwhelming requests for entertainment during the Covid19 pandemic, Spectrum Audio Visual and the History Center of Olmsted County are moving forward with a Drive-In Movie & Music series every Friday evening from June 26th until September 25th 2020 to the general population of Rochester, MN and the surrounding area. The hours of this event will be 7:30 pm until 11:30 pm and will be held at Roosters Field on the southeast corner of the History Center grounds. The main feature of this event will be PG/PG-13 rated American Classic movies (i.e. Grease, Top Gun, The Mask, etc.) displayed on an enormous 50’x28’ video screen supported by a 15,000 lumen HD digital projection and a stereo FM radio transmission for each patrons car to receive. Also, we will feature local musicians from 7:30pm until showtime, sunset dependent. Pasquale’s Neighborhood Pizza will be selling pizza, ice cream sandwiches and sodas from their food truck while local High School bands will be selling fresh popped popcorn and sodas from the concession stand.
Tickets are $25 per/car (sales tax and credit/debit/paypal card processing fees included) and will be only sold online on Facebook at “Pandemic Pictures Presents” and will be redeemed at the gate with a handheld, no touch, laser reader to maintain no contact. There is a 100 vehicles maximum limit, so it is important that you purchase your ticket early to get a space. Gates open at 7pm and parking will be 1st come basis to choose your space.
Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Minnesota health standards will be implemented and enforced at this event. Cars will park with a minimum of 6’ distance between them, with the guidance of parking attendants, and patrons will be asked to stay in their cars except for bathroom and food breaks. Both of which will have staff persons monitoring to encourage safe distancing. The bathrooms will be sanitized every 30 minutes.
