Sales Director - Base Salary plus commission



Membership – To progress the Chamber’s membership development and retention strategy to grow business engagement in the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce. This includes meeting or exceeding membership goals, educating members on engagement opportunities and the benefits of Chamber membership, and establishing and maintaining relationships with new and current Chamber members.


Programs & Publications – To promote and grow active partnerships with existing and new members, demonstrating the value the Chamber brings to their organization. To develop and support annual events and programming that encourages member engagement in the organization.


This is a full-time, onsite position in Rochester, Minnesota. Benefits include 401k, dental insurance, health insurance, vision insurance, and paid time off. Pay range is $50,000-$56,0000 per year. Please apply by emailing your resume to




  • Achieve and maintain a monthly membership recruitment goals.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a strategic sales plan to grow the membership base of the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce.
  • Connect with existing members to encourage engagement and awareness of member benefits.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of membership retention initiatives.


Programs & Events

  • Actively support and participate in Chamber events, including those events focused on growing member connections. Business After Hours, AM Espresso, and more.
  • Development of a strategic sales plan to acquire and retain sponsorships for Chamber events and programs.
  • Manage and schedule member ribbon cutting events, including communication with the Chamber Ambassador Committee.



  • Grow advertising in Chamber publications, both print and digital, and the Rochester Chamber website to meet revenue goals.



  • Manage and support the Ambassador Committee of the Chamber.



  • The membership director must be visible and engaged in the community, attending Chamber events and being a positive representative of the Chamber in the Rochester community and surrounding area.
  • Other duties as assigned by the president.



The ideal professional for this role will possess:

  • Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of business-to-business sales practices with previous experience
  • Creativity and strategic thinking
  • Knowledge of aspects and practices necessary to ensure retention, engagement, and sponsorship functions are performed on time and effectively.
  • Possess effective written and verbal communications with an understanding of various audiences.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with business members.
  • Developing and managing volunteer engagement.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.


This person should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and sales experience. Adobe CS (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Excel, PowerPoint, and Word experience are welcome, and will be considered when choosing the best applicant for this position.
