Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience
Associate’s degree from and accredited college in business administration, administrative assistant, accounting, or related field and two (2) years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions.
OR
Combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions.
OR
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in business administration, accounting, or related field.
Regular and reliable attendance is a necessary component of job/position. Individuals required to use County vehicles and equipment must have a valid driver’s license and be free of any major traffic violations for the last three (3) years.
Nature of Work
Under supervision, identifies billable services to capture revenue from various sources, verifies client information and eligibility, and submits billing. Leads quality control functions and ensures the accuracy of data. Collaborates with staff on missing and incomplete data. Independently leads the development of reporting and communication of revenue status. Troubleshoots system issues and collaborates with vendors. Serves as a liaison with health plan partners. Develops and implements procedures for data entry and to ensure state and federal compliance. Monitors changes in state and federal requirements. Updates and tests system changes. Serves as a subject matter expert, mentors and trains staff. Collaborates with Department of Human Services (DHS) on revenue requirements. Supports a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
Examples of Work
- Collects, verifies, and analyzes complex information for compliance with program rules and regulations to ensure accurate and timely billing for eligible revenue.
- Completes and submits documents, reports, invoices, and billings. Reviews reports, identifies missed and rejected claims, and determines correct information to resubmit.
- Implements data practices, retention, and destruction procedures.
- Trains and mentors staff. Verifies the work of others.
- Enters and maintains data and makes updates to systems to ensure data integrity.
- Conducts internal audits and responds to external audit requests.
- Analyzes information, develops reports, and provides recommendations to management.
- Verifies and monitors eligibility for programs and communicates status.
- Assists staff in navigating and troubleshooting the use of systems. Maintains system and database setup. Develops and maintains system documentation. Collaborates with vendors as needed.
- Develops curriculum and conducts training on program revenue policies, procedures, and system requirements.
- Collaborates with staff, community partners, and health plans to ensure accurate payments.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of department programs, operations, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of the federal and state laws and rules for department programs.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Knowledge of debt collection laws and procedures.
- Skill in the use of basic business math.
