Warehouse Associate

Logic of English, an education publishing company located in Rochester, MN is seeking the right person to fill the role of Warehouse Associate within our growing organization. This position will be responsible for the daily activities of warehousing functions. They must be able to spend most of the day working alone or with a growing team as part of their regular routine. We are looking for someone to fill this role who can take ownership of their respective area(s) but who also works well within a team environment. This position includes a 90-day probationary period during which performance and suitability for the role will be evaluated.

Some of the areas of responsibility will include order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, manufacturing, assembly and inventory management. A typical day for the Warehouse Associate will consist of utilizing different information systems, picking orders, receiving inbound shipments, manufacturing and assembling new products, ordering and maintaining supplies, and performing inventory counts as needed. As a team member in a growing company, the Warehouse Associate may occasionally be called upon to take on responsibilities that do not fall under their assigned areas but are in the best interest of the organization and its success. This position will report to the Warehouse & Inventory Manager. 

Candidates must live in the Rochester, MN area. 

Job Description

General Responsibilities:

  • Performing incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper condition of shipments. 

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments. 

  • Use software to track, check, prioritize and route orders. 

  • Work with the Warehouse Manager and other team members to identify stock shortages and issues. 

  • Process and restock returns as needed. 

  • Report to management on activities and issues. 

  • Inspecting material handling equipment for defects and notifying Warehouse Manager of any issues. 

  • Unloading packages and pallets from incoming trucks. 

  • Forklift operations. 

  • Assist in monthly/annual inventory counts. 

  • Ordering and storage of warehouse supplies. 

  • Maintaining a clean and safe workplace. 

  • Warehouse general upkeep as needed.

  • Understanding of how processes flow and work together. 

  • Experience in information systems. Preferably inventory management and shipping systems. 

  • Manufacturing and assembly background.

  • Basic computer and handheld barcode reader knowledge.

Requirements: 

  • Ability to work a minimum 40-hour work week. 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. 

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
