Position Summary

Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity is seeking an experienced, passionate, and community-focused Executive Director to lead our organization into its next chapter of growth and impact. The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of the organization and is responsible for advancing the mission through strategic leadership, fundraising, financial oversight, community engagement, and staff management.

This position requires a highly visible leader who is comfortable serving as the public face of the organization. Approximately 60% or more of the Executive Director’s time is expected to be spent in the community building relationships with donors, business leaders, local governments, faith organizations, community partners, volunteers, and supporters.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader, skilled manager, relationship builder, and fundraiser who can inspire others while ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Organizational Leadership

Community Relations & Public Engagement

· Serve as the primary ambassador and spokesperson for the organization.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, local governments, community leaders, businesses, churches, civic organizations, and partner agencies.

· Represent Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity at public events, meetings, media appearances, and community functions.

· Increase community awareness and support for Habitat’s mission and programs.

Fundraising & Resource Development

· Lead all fundraising efforts, including major donor cultivation, sponsorship development, grant opportunities, annual campaigns, and special events.

· Personally engage with donors and prospects to secure financial support.

· Develop and execute strategies to diversify and grow revenue streams.

· Work alongside board members and volunteers to expand fundraising capacity.

Financial Management

· Develop and manage annual operating budgets.

· Monitor organizational financial performance and ensure responsible stewardship of resources.

· Analyze financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and profit-and-loss statements.

· Provide regular financial reporting and recommendations to the Board of Directors.

· Ensure sound financial controls and long-term financial sustainability.

Staff Leadership & Management

· Lead, coach, and support staff while fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.

· Delegate responsibilities appropriately while maintaining accountability.

· Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing team members.

· Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development.

· Demonstrate a management style that is clear, accountable, supportive, and focused on achieving organizational goals.

Operations & Program Oversight

· Ensure effective execution of all Habitat programs, construction activities, volunteer engagement, and family support services.

· Collaborate with staff and volunteers to improve operational efficiency and program outcomes.

· Monitor organizational performance and implement improvements where necessary.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

· Demonstrated leadership experience in nonprofit, business, government, or related sectors.

· Demonstrated ability to lead fundraising, donor cultivation, sponsorship development, or resource development efforts.

· Strong management and supervisory experience.

· Experience developing and managing budgets.

· Ability to read, understand, and interpret financial statements and organizational performance metrics.

· Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

· Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.

· Ability to build relationships and represent the organization professionally within the community.

· Commitment to the mission and values of Habitat for Humanity.

Preferred Qualifications

· Proven ability to confidently ask for financial support and cultivate donor relationships.

· Established connections and visibility within the region served by Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity.

· Experience working with nonprofit boards and volunteers.

· Knowledge of affordable housing, community development, or construction-related organizations.

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Finance, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field.

Compensation

Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000 per year based on experience and qualifications including a full range of competitive benefits.
