STEAM Summit Mission and Overview:
The STEAM Summit encourages over 2,000 middle and high school students to pursue science, technology, engineering, art, and math careers by connecting them to business and higher educational institutions which offer STEAM courses in a highly interactive, hands-on format.
The future success of the Southeast Minnesota economy depends on a well-prepared pipeline of students with the education and skills needed to keep the region’s business and industry competitive. This summit brings together business, higher education, local government and our community to motivate and prepare students for an increasingly competitive global marketplace.
Real Impact:
As a direct result of of STEAM Summit, our student surveys found of those who attended: 85% of the students had a positive, fun experience, 78% learned something that they could not have learned in the classroom and 57% identified a career or field that they'd like to pursue in the future.

Format
There are a few zones your students will transition through. Your class will be given the order in which to visit the zones upon arrival.
When it is time to move to a different group, we will give a loud signal. Students, chaperones, and their teachers should quickly move to their next zone. Quick transitions are very important so the students can experience as much as possible in the allotted time. Students will likely not be able to visit each exhibit. Help them scan the opportunities and engage as they wish. Encourage them to visit at least 10 exhibits (avg. 3 minutes or less) in each zone.
