Women's Roundtable
Women's Roundtable
Develop relationships within this supportive group of women leaders who meet the third Friday morning of each month. The Women's Roundtable provides a small, safe environment for women to: practice and refine skills, discuss challenges specific to women in positions of leadership, learn together and empower each other to take risks. Join us for a fun, engaging program driven by the needs of the group.
**Please note that all presentations and content delivered within or in the promotion of Roundtable meetings are entirely Roundtable Chair and member/attendee driven. Any messaging and content conveyed within and for these meetings is in no way representative of the Chamber's views, ideals, or positioning.**
Featured Speaker: Lisa Schutz, Indigenous Food Producer and Executive Director of the Minnesota Food Rescue and the Equity Eats Initiative
Grounded in science-based methods, Lisa’s work promotes a regenerative food economy centered on collaboration, inclusivity, and transparency. By actively seeking input from diverse voices, she fosters trust and strengthens community ownership, facilitating the restoration of ecosystems and economies.
A key aspect of her work involves guiding youth to preserve Indigenous traditions and instilling pride in First Nation food sovereignty and cultural heritage. Lisa believes this integrated approach nurtures a natural, sustainable food system that enhances community resilience and collective impact, supporting local economies and fostering a healthier future for all.
Lisa collaborates closely with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), and serves on the Olmsted County Food Security Coalition, the Emerging Farmers Committee, and the Indigenous Farmers Working Group. She is grateful for the dedicated support of her work from local, state, and federal government leaders and lawmakers.
