A Day in the Life at Custom Alarm
The Chief Operating Officer/Integrator is the right-hand to the CEO/Visionary translating vision into action, aligning teams, and delivering operational excellence while ensuring that the company runs smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with strategic goals. Responsible for directing and coordinating activities of all areas of the business. Aid the CEO in formulating and administering organization policies by performing essential responsibilities personally or through management. Lead by example and conduct day-to-day interactions in a manner that exemplifies and supports the Core Values of the company.

  • Reports to: CEO/Visionary
  • Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm (can fluctuate as a salary position)
  • Location: Rochester, Minnesota
  • Company Size: 75 employees
  • Pay: $125,000 - $155,000 per year + opportunity for bonus and profit sharing (starting wage is determined based on a number of considerations including education, certifications, related experience, etc.)
 
The Main Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership – Oversee daily operations, optimize systems and KPIs, and ensure cross-functional alignment and accountability.
  • Strategic Execution – Lead planning efforts, translate vision into actionable goals, and adjust strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Team Leadership – Manage and mentor department heads, ensuring the right people are in the right roles and fostering a culture of accountability.
  • Financial Oversight – Lead financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting; monitor profitability and efficiency; partner with leadership on forecasting and long-term financial planning to support strategic goals.
  • Culture & Alignment – Champion company values, EOS/Pinnacle principles, and a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Technology & Systems – Oversee IT and telecom systems; ensure tools and technology support growth, efficiency, and strong ROI.
  • Innovation & Process Improvement – Support implementation of new technologies and process improvements to enhance performance and customer value.
  • Facilities Oversight – Direct maintenance and improvements for company facilities and grounds, coordinating internal and external resources.
  • Professional Development – Stay current on industry trends through conferences, publications, and professional networks.

Education and Experience
  • Proven experience as a COO, Integrator, or similar executive leadership role
  • High School Diploma, 4-year Business Degree, and/or equivalent experience
  • Industry expert and understanding of the critical issues of this business

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Audio, visual, and verbal functions are vital aspects to performing this position. A majority of time is spent sitting, standing and walking. Simultaneous movement of hands, wrists and fingers is an important element. Some lifting may be necessary; weights of objects rarely exceed 20 pounds. Driving is required.
 
Working Conditions
The workday is typically spent in a comfortable office environment with modern office equipment. After hours work and occasional travel may be necessary.
 
Other Requirements
Regular and reliable attendance is required. Due to the security nature of our business, offers of employment are contingent upon passing a background check and drug test.
