Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience

Provides rotating 24/7 on-call support for systems that are identified in an SLA.

Expected starting salary is $36.60 to $48.88. Full salary range $36.60 to $61.15 per hour.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or related field and three (3) years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions.

OR

A combination of education and experience equivalent to seven (7) years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions.

Regular and reliable attendance is a necessary component of job/position. Individuals required to use County vehicles and equipment must have a valid driver's license and be free of any major traffic violations for the last three (3) years.

Nature of Work

Under minimum supervision of an Information Technology Manager, provides advanced Information Systems (IS) integration, administration, optimization and support on all phases of computer systems and applications across various platforms for business and technical engineering systems in a complex computing environment.  Plays a lead technical role in projects and/or technology initiatives through all phases of systems development including: planning/design, development, implementation and operation for complex computer projects.  Makes complex decisions.  Assists and trains users in extraction and usage of system data. Responsible for liaison activities between assigned departments, management, vendors and ITS staff. Supports a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace.

Examples of Work

  • Provides advanced Information Systems (IS) integration, administration, and support on all phases of computer systems and applications across various computer platforms for business and technical engineering systems in a complex computing environment.
  • Plays a lead technical role in projects and/or technology initiatives through all phases of systems development.
  • Determines and creates documentation and facilitates training for management and user personnel in usage of system equipment, system data and overall system capabilities; develops and documents process and procedures for ongoing management of the environment.
  • Collaborates with ITS Workgroups on the proper procedural and system operational functions between assigned departments, ITS, system vendors, and state agencies relative to the automated systems; coordinates related activities between management and user personnel.
  • Provides technical and/or business application consulting in research, definition of measurement criteria, and evaluation of new hardware and software alternatives and preparation of technical justification for future purchases.
  • Collaborates with other areas of ITS and customers to inform, assist and provide technical input and assistance.
  • Provides rotating 24/7 on-call support for systems that are identified in an SLA.
  • Performs related duties as required or assigned.
