American Veterans Traveling Tribute at Rochesterfest 2025
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Rochester to Host the American Veterans Traveling Tribute’s “Traveling Vietnam Wall” and “Cost of Freedom” Tribute during Rochesterfest, June 23-29
Rochester, MN – The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, LinkVet, and Rochesterfest are honored to announce that they will host the American Veterans Traveling Tribute’s “Traveling Vietnam Wall” and the “Cost of Freedom” Tribute from June 23-29, 2025, as part of the annual Celebration of a City-Rochesterfest event. These moving and significant exhibits will be located at Soldiers Field, adjacent to the Veteran’s Memorial.
The “Traveling Vietnam Wall,” a 3/5-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., will provide a powerful opportunity for both local residents and visitors to honor and remember the more than 58,000 soldiers who gave their lives in the Vietnam War. The tribute offers an important space for reflection, healing, and remembrance for all who have been impacted by the sacrifice of our military personnel.
In addition, the “Cost of Freedom” Tribute will be on display, honoring veterans of all conflicts. This tribute includes military vehicles, memorial displays, and other artifacts from past and present wars, giving visitors an opportunity to pay their respects and learn about the sacrifices made by the men and women of our armed forces.
“We are proud to bring these remarkable tributes to Rochester and to provide a space where our community can come together to honor the bravery and sacrifices of our veterans,” said Rochesterfest Executive Director, Randy Stocker. “These exhibits will give us a chance to reflect on our nation's history and the incredible service of those who have defended our freedom.”
The “Traveling Vietnam Wall” and “Cost of Freedom” Tribute will be available for viewing throughout the week of June 23rd, with special ceremonies and events planned in conjunction with Rochesterfest. The public is invited to visit Soldier’s Field to view the exhibits, engage in educational programming, and participate in moments of remembrance.
